here's one from my archives taken at reelfoot lake state park in nw tn....these 6 month old babies had been rescued from a chimney at the tender age of 3 months. they were being cared for at the wildlife reserve until old enough to be released back in the wild. they were housed in a large kennel and fed raw meat extended to them on a long stick to minimize human contact. they were swaying and hissing in unison as we looked on telling us menancingly to 'scram.'

awwww
they are so cute!! they must be considered pests here for some reason or another because I see ads advertising to get rid of them if you have a problem with them, but they are cute, can't imagine anyone having a problem with them
great picture :)
betty
Oh, they're gorgeous Gina! I remember seeing one early morning when I was walking my dogs. It came straight out of the mist at me looking like a ghost! Jeannette xx
Oh my gosh! Those are adorable!
Hi Gina, I hope those chicks make it back in the wild. I have had the opportunity to help band some Barn Owl chicks and I must say those hisses and head bobbing, etc. is pretty darn scary ;-)
They are great! They're one of my favorite owls.
how clever sandy
Wow! Awesome photo and story. I'm glad they were rescued.

I first thought they were stuffed owls, they are so cute !
These are just amazing!
What a wonderful shot! Strange looking critters, too - very "odd".
Oh wow, what a cool shot! They sure look cute, but sound scary!
What an incredible shot. Thanks for the description of them swaying and hissing. It brings the picture more to life for me. (Hugs)Indigo
